Rewards Program Guidelines

If you plan to participate in our Fundraising Rewards Program and want to be eligible for prizes, please follow the simple rules below to ensure proper record keeping. 

General

• In order to be eligible for Fundraising Rewards you must provide an email address.  ALL prize redemption certificates will be emailed.

• Participants may not combine or merge pledges with other participants to become eligible for higher level prizes.

• If you or one of your pledge donors submits a request for matching gifts through a business, the Race personnel will count the donation as part of your pledges at the time those funds are received. 

Online Donations

• Please make sure that your online donors have your personal webpage address or know how to access it.  Komen Baton Rouge cannot re-designate donations that were entered in the wrong location.

• Fundraising totals for prizes do not include registration fees.

Offline Donations (cash or checks received via mail or in person)

• To count toward pledge reward prizes, all offline pledges must be accompanied by a completed pledge form.  Forms may be downloaded from our site at www.komenbatonrouge.org under Race for the Cure > Fundraise > How To Fundraise and can be found in our brochure.

• Have donors send pledges to you (check written to Komen Baton Rouge Affiliate) and then submit them in batches with a pledge sheet.   Pledges sent individually by the donor cannot be counted toward a participant’s total.

• A phone number must be included.  We only use this as a way to separate the records of two people with the same name.   We will not call you unless there is a question about your submission.  We never solicit for donations by phone.

• Only one participant name per pledge sheet.  If you collected pledges with another participant, simply split the amount and fill out two separate pledge sheets.

• Offline donations are entered into our online system so you will see your pledges as they are received.   Please allow several days for processing, as this work is done by volunteers.

• Our new online system allows participants to enter their offline donations to their site as “pending” donations.   Pending donations, however, are not counted toward your prize total until they are received by Komen Baton Rouge.

• We have many pledges to process and sometimes errors happen.  Please review your fundraising page and report any errors or omissions prior to the prize deadline to race@komenbatonrouge.org.  Please include as much information as possible for us to track the issue.

Sweet 16 Saves is more than a phrase… it’s a challenge to each Race participant to make a spectacular impact toward the Komen mission “to save lives and end breast cancer forever.” You can be a part of this challenge by fundraising during the 16th anniversary of the Baton Rouge Komen Race for the Cure.

Imagine… if every Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would raise $1.4 million. Imagine the lives saved!
