Grants

The Susan G. Komen for the Cure® promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.  Up to 75% of proceeds raised from our Komen Baton Rouge Race for the Cure and other local events remain in our community to provide funding for services to further that promise. Applications can be submitted by any nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions within our service area that provides breast cancer and breast health services. Our service area includes  East & West Baton Rouge Parish, East & West East Feliciana Parish, Ascension, Iberville, Livingston, Pointe Coupee, Saint Helena Parishes, and Tangipahoa Parish.

In March 2009, we had approximately 10,000 people register for the Race.  Included in that number and recognized in a separate ceremony, were over 500 survivors.  Due to our gracious and generous donors and sponsors, we grossed over $300,000.  We were able to grant out over $270,000.00 to local programs who provide services for screening, treatment, and education.

Our next grant cycle will run from April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011. Eligible applications must be postmarked by 5:00 p.m. on December 31, 2009. Announcements of funding will be made in April, 2010. Click HERE for current RFA.

Interested facilities and organizations may request application information at grants@batonrougekomen.org.
